Eighth graders from team Great Expectations at Sycamore Middle School display old cell phones they collected for Cell Phones for Soldiers, a not-for-profit company that collects phones for recycling.
The company cell phone service offers web browsing (unlike prepaid cell phone companies) on all of its smart phones, with no contracts, no credit checks, no activation fees and no cancellation fees.
So what's to be done with cell phones? Most venues will remind audiences to turn off their phones before the performance begins, but for some reason that doesn't seem to do the trick.
